One scene from that film really got me thinking. It is when Bruce starts hearing the prayers of people all around the world at random times, then it really bugged him and decides to do something about and one of his solution is to place all those prayers in the form of email then from there he decides to answer them one by one.
What if God really has an email address and the prayers are all emails to him that he read one by one?
There are more than billions of people around the world who are constantly praying to him and if that prayer is to be converted into bits of data you will need a very powerful server to hold and to store those kilobytes of data, even google or yahoo will need a bigger server for those. Imagine a server that is dedicated only to handle the prayers of people who are maybe praying more than 2 times a day, you will be needing tons of supercomputer to handle those.
What about the contents of every prayer? Especially amongst catholic for they not only have a prayer request, but they also have worship prayer that if also converted to data it can also take up more space, even in the content box imagine reading those everyday for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
As a person who understands the world of computers that amount of data is so overwhelming that it cannot be stored by a single server that can only store million or billion bytes of data. Because it need to hold a prayer of billions of people who request for God not only to do something for them but to also worship and thank him for all the things he had given them that is not limited to be prayed on a certain day not just every day buy every time the person want to speak to God. Because that is our only way to communicate to him through prayer, but his answer to it is by his will.
Yes, today most of the kids are amazed with the technology that people only made by hands, but imagine what kind of technology does he use to know every detail of life, to hear every request that you made to him and to answer it in a way that you will know that he is there and you just need to keep your faith. That may be a better technology than we have right now.
This really got me thinking and also made me realize how amazing God really is. Think about it Bruce needs a computer to read and answer every prayer that was sent to his email while God only needs to listen without filtering every prayer that he hears and answering them in the least expected way to the person who is asking in his prayer.
